We are raising a generation of empowered women who will become leaders, mentors, and advocates for change.
Empower women and girls in the community through education, sport, and leadership training.
Increase awareness and prevention of gender-based violence through workshops, school visits, and community engagement.
Build a sustainable support network with athletes and ambassadors who promote equality and positive change.
Tulizo Foundation is based in Iten — the world's capital of distance running — in Kenya's Rift Valley. This is where champions are made, and where we are building a generation of women leaders.
Using sport to educate, empower, and protect
Tulizo Foundation uses athletics as a platform to engage students in GBV awareness, life skills, and leadership development — fostering confidence, teamwork, and gender equality among boys and girls across Elgeyo Marakwet, expanding to Uasin Gishu County in 2027.
Facilitating dialogue and building accountability
Organized specialized sessions for in-depth GBV discussions — targeting vulnerable populations in athletic camps, villages, and engaging local leaders, religious figures, and men within the community. 35–40 participants per workshop.
Training leaders — empowering change-makers
Delivering life skills and leadership training to 24 young women — empowering them as GBV ambassadors who leverage their athletic platform for advocacy, lead community campaigns, and inspire the next generation.
Running for awareness, inclusion, and change
Community-based athletic events centred on GBV prevention — inspiring participation and personal growth. Our special Christmas Run and Eid Run celebrate community, inclusion, and support families facing hardship.
Safe spaces for healing, growth, and connection
Structured weekly discussion groups within camp openly addressing GBV, emotional wellbeing, self-esteem, and mental health. Sessions are open to various groups and camps — building cross-camp sisterhood and collaboration.
