Tulizo Foundation Officially Launches in Iten

We kicked off with school outreach, home visits, and training camp sessions across Elgeyo Marakwet — empowering 24 athletes and reaching 6 schools in our first year.

School Outreach Program

Using sport to educate, empower, and protect

School

Tulizo Foundation uses athletics as a platform to engage students in GBV awareness, life skills, and leadership development — fostering confidence, teamwork, and gender equality among boys and girls across Elgeyo Marakwet, expanding to Uasin Gishu County in 2027.

What We Do

  • Interactive athletics drills combined with GBV life skills training
  • Role-playing, peer discussions, and group learning on gender equality
  • Team-building and leadership development exercises
  • Collaboration with school teachers to integrate sessions into curriculum

Community Forums & Workshops

Facilitating dialogue and building accountability

Community

Organized specialized sessions for in-depth GBV discussions — targeting vulnerable populations in athletic camps, villages, and engaging local leaders, religious figures, and men within the community. 35–40 participants per workshop.

Mentorship & Ambassador Program

Training leaders — empowering change-makers

Mentorship

Delivering life skills and leadership training to 24 young women — empowering them as GBV ambassadors who leverage their athletic platform for advocacy, lead community campaigns, and inspire the next generation.

Program Components

  • Mentorship sessions using role-play, storytelling, and reflection
  • Planning and leading community GBV advocacy projects independently
  • Social media campaign training for digital advocacy
  • Ambassador school visits and community run leadership

Running for awareness, inclusion, and change

Community-based athletic events centred on GBV prevention — inspiring participation and personal growth. Our special Christmas Run and Eid Run celebrate community, inclusion, and support families facing hardship.

Weekly Camp Discussions

Safe spaces for healing, growth, and connection

Discussions

Structured weekly discussion groups within camp openly addressing GBV, emotional wellbeing, self-esteem, and mental health. Sessions are open to various groups and camps — building cross-camp sisterhood and collaboration.
